Alan O’Sullivan Managing Director
As a consultant to Guards Polo Club, Alan has introduced some of
the leading brands into the sport such as Rolls-Royce and Barclays
Private Bank. As a publisher of the Cartier Polo Magazine for over
10 years, he has also launched the World Championship Ladies Polo
Magazine and more recently 10 Goal, the polo lifestyle magazine
attracting a new audience to polo. Alan draws upon his unique ability
of working with leading brands to create new and exciting partnerships
in the sport.
Henry Brett Director
Henry has played for and captained the England polo team and has
won every major tournament in England and many more around the world.
Henry has reached a handicap of 8 and is one of only four English
players to have reached this level since the Second World War. He
was the first English player to captain his side to victory against
Argentina in Argentina. Henry has unparalleled contacts within the
Polo world and brings unrivalled expertise and understanding.
John Honsinger Director
John has over thirty years experience working with major brands
in the UK, helping them with their corporate identity, branding,
advertising, marketing and communications, and working for a number
of agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi.
During the last ten years he has worked closely with luxury brands
and started a top-end customer publishing business with Alan O’Sullivan.
He enjoys the challenge of producing effective communication strategies
and is a skilled client/agency liaison officer.
Charles Stisted Non Executive Chairman
Charles Stisted has been Chief Executive of Guards Polo Club for the past seven years. In that time he has overseen the Club’s expansion into Europe’s leading polo club. He was also the driving force behind the Cartier International Dubai Polo Challenge event in Dubai, encouraging both the host of the event and the sponsor that a unique British polo day could be created in the heart of Dubai.
He first walked through the doors of Guards Polo Club in 1989 on his appointment as events manager. In his four years in this post, he was responsible for turning Cartier International Day into the world’s largest polo event. He was promoted to Club Secretary in 1995 and implemented and developed the Club’s successful licensing and trademark registration programme. As a result, the Club launched its own range of fragrances and sunglasses in 2005.
Lars Clausen Non Executive Director
The founder of Direct Communications, Lars read International Business Studies at Kingston Polytechnic and was one of the first exchange students to enter a foreign Business School in France under the Erasmus programme. He left polytechnic in 1991 and started the agency in 1992 from offices in Kew. Over the past 10 years Lars has built an enviable following of blue-chip clients by combining his fundamental grasp of European cultural issues with the no-nonsense execution of world class design delivered as a discrete and trusted personal service. He speaks several European languages.
Edward Lawson Johnston Non Executive Director
Edward is the Founder and Managing Director of Cornhill Property
Investments Limited and over the last few years has built up an in-depth
knowledge of the emerging markets including Eastern Europe, Russia, CIS,
India and the UAE. He has launched and run his own strategic marketing
business The Lawson Johnston Partnership, and previously set up the
British & World Luxury Council in London, Dubai, Mumbai & Delhi with HRH
Prince Michael of Kent & Foreign office delegations. Edward also ran the
marketing for CR Investment, an International Property Brokerage and
remains a consultant to the London School of Business & Finance.
