Davinder Rai - Marketing
Director
Having worked within the Luxury and High Net Worth sector for a number
of years, Davinder has established many long-term relationships with some
of the worlds leading luxury brands and corporations.
As well as being the key Account Director on the Cartier International
Polo magazine, Davinder has worked with Candy and Candy, Quintessentially,
and Graff Diamonds, thus obtaining an in-depth knowledge of the affluent
market sector, and perfectly positioning himself to assist companies in
strengthening their relationships with existing clients and gain new ones
through a variety of imaginative initiatives.
Emma Wigan - Director
of Events & Public Relations
Emma started her career as a fashion and beauty journalist at Nota Bene.
In 2008, she moved to work for Spears Wealth Management Magazine where
she was involved in organising sponsored events and bringing companies
together in high-profile business partnerships. She graduated from Edinburgh
University with a Masters in Psychology.
Emma is a keen sportswoman who is a successful eventer competing at national
level.
Poppy Cross – Press Officer
Poppy started her career freelancing for luxury companies such as Harpers
Bazaar, Halpern PR, Links of London and Christian Louboutin before moving
to work at Burberry as a Sales Executive. She has gained experience in
writing, fashion styling and organising high profile events. Poppy graduated
from Oxford Brookes University with a 2.1 BA Honours in Communications,
Media and Culture with Film Studies.
Poppy is a dedicated sportswoman and has enjoyed great success at BHTA
Intermediate Level eventing.
Anna Khay - Events Manager
Anna has broad experience in the media and entertainment sectors. She
ran her own nightclub/entertainment centre "Excentrique" in
Russia for two years and organized spectacular events for more than 1,000
people, engaging artists like Faithless, Tim Deluxe, Futureshock and Renaissance
Residents. She introduced a new concept with the aqua dance floor which
has become very popular in Russia. After selling her business, Anna moved
to London to broaden her experience working for a publishing house in
finance and administration, where she was actively involved in helping
to secure the first licensing deal in Russia for Spears Wealth Management
and launching the publication in October 2008. Anna has an Honours Bachelors
Degree from UCL in Economics and Business.
Alan O’Sullivan - Managing Director
Alan has introduced some high profile and leading brands into the sport
of Polo such as Rolls Royce, Vivari, Gibson and Barclays Private Bank.
Alan’s career began in publishing in 1995 and he has been Publisher
of the Cartier Polo Magazine for over 12 years, which he continues to
do. In 2000, Alan launched a bespoke publishing house in Mayfair and more
recently launched an affiliated event management company PTY
Unlimited, which represents luxury and corporate brands.
John Honsinger – Executive Director
John has over thirty years experience working with major brands in the
UK, helping them with their corporate identity, branding, advertising
and communications, and gained his experience at various advertising agencies
including many years at Saatchi & Saatchi.
Since 1995 he has worked closely with luxury brands and was significantly
involved in the launch and development of ‘The World’s Most
Exclusive Airline’ PrivatAir. Whilst engaged on this business he
launched a top-end customer publishing business together with Alan O’Sullivan.
He enjoys the challenge of producing effective communication strategies
and building long-term relationships with clients inside and outside the
world of Polo.
Non Executive Directors
Henry Brett - Director
Former Captain of the England polo team, Henry has won every major tournament
in England and many more around the world reaching a handicap of 8 and
is one of only four English players to have reached this level since WW2.
Henry was the first English player to captain his side to victory against
Argentina on home ground. He has unparalleled contacts within the Polo
world and brings unrivalled expertise and understanding, running his own
company, Brett
Polo . In 2008 Henry opened his Polo School at The Royal
Berkshire Polo Club and continues to be one of the leading high goal players.
Lars Clausen - Non Executive Director
As the founder of Direct Communications, Lars started his agency in 1992
from his offices in Kew. Over the past 10 years, Lars has built an enviable
following of blue-chip clients by combining his fundamental grasp of European
cultural issues with the no-nonsense execution of world class design delivered
with a discreet and trusted personal service. He speaks several European
languages and currently holds 12 Directorships.
Charles Stisted - Non Executive Chairman
Charles Stisted has been Chief Executive of Guards Polo Club for the past
ten years. In that time he has overseen the Club’s expansion to
become Europe’s leading Polo Club. He was also the driving force
behind the Cartier International Dubai Polo Challenge event in Dubai,
encouraging both the host of the event and the sponsor that a unique British
polo day could be created in the heart of Dubai. He first walked through
the doors of Guards Polo Club in 1989 on his appointment as Events Manager.
In his four years in this post, he was responsible for turning Cartier
International Day into the world’s largest Polo event. He was promoted
to Club Secretary in 1995 implementing and developing the Club’s
successful licensing and trademark registration programme. As a result,
the Club launched its own range of fragrances and sunglasses in 2005.
More recently he has overseen the redevelopment and opening of the new
Club House by Her Majesty the Queen in 2009.
Edward Lawson Johnston - Non Executive Director
Edward is a Founder of Cornhill Property Investments Limited and now runs
a family office called LJ Capital Management Limited. Over the last few
years Edward has built up an in-depth knowledge of emerging markets including
Eastern Europe, Russia, CIS, India and the UAE. He has launched and run
his own strategic marketing business The Lawson Johnston Partnership,
and previously set up the British & World Luxury Council in London,
Dubai, Mumbai & Delhi with HRH Prince Michael of Kent & Foreign
Office delegations. Edward also ran the marketing for CR Investment, an
International Property Brokerage and remains a consultant to the London
School of Business & Finance.
